FAQ

What is a VPN?

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) routes your internet traffic through an encrypted tunnel to another network—usually a provider you choose. Your ISP sees less detail, and websites usually see the VPN's IP address instead of your home or mobile IP.

What is a proxy?

A proxy is a server that forwards your requests on your behalf. It can be limited to one app or browser, or handle broader traffic. Datacenter proxies are often easier to recognize than residential proxies that look like normal home internet.

What is Tor?

Tor stands for The Onion Router. It is a free anonymity network that sends your traffic through several volunteer relays before it reaches the open internet. Exit nodes are often publicly listed, which helps services flag Tor-related traffic.

What does "Relay" mean on the results?

Here it usually refers to relay-style privacy services (for example iCloud Private Relay), where your traffic leaves through a provider-managed address instead of your device's raw IP.

Are these results accurate?

This site uses a third-party IP intelligence service (vpnapi.io). It is good at spotting many commercial VPNs, datacenters, Tor exits, and similar paths—but no database is perfect. Some proxies, especially residential ones, can look like ordinary broadband.

Does this tool make me invisible online?

No. This page only explains what kind of public IP address you are showing to the internet right now. It does not encrypt your traffic, hide you from your VPN provider, or stop cookies, logins, or other tracking that does not rely only on IP.
